So if you haven't seen it already, but you're the kind of person who hangs around here (and you must be, or you're not likely to ever be reading this, are you?), you'll likely be very interested in checking out Martha Wells's list of Non-European Fantasy by Women. It's a long and diverse list, with even more suggestions in the comments, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to start checking off as many of these books as I can. Ladies and non-Eurocentric settings? I haven't been this giddy over a shiny new internet discovery in at least days. Clearly this is the best way ever for me to spend my summer.
